Acknowledgement
What does this mean?
Acknowledge not only the abortion but what changed when you decided you were going to have the abortion.
What is it that you needed to acknowledge?
Sit quietly giving yourself permission to go back to a place where there may be hurt, and you may not want to go. Invite Jesus to go with you. To stand with you and examine your heart and how you are doing since the abortion.
To begin to help you understand the journey let’s look at what the word of God says about acknowledgement.
I acknowledged my sin to you and my iniquity. I did not hide I said I will confess my transgressions to the Lord, and you forgave the guilt of my sin.
Psalm 32:5
Hi, this is Kay Hall and this is my teachable moment.
At a women’s retreat I asked Jesus to show me my life. To make it clear to me what it looked like behind the veil of shame. What I saw was bleak. Dark. Without life. Picture this a playground where the toys that once gave delight to children in a warm summer day were all rusted and broken, the soft green grass that welcomed little bare feet was dead, the fence that once was standing to protect the playground was broken and rotting and the sun that once sent its warm rays to wash over the playground was distant and dark. It was my life. My life with shame. It’s where I had chosen to set up camp. It was empty and void of any hope or light. It was where I needed to be to start the journey back.
I needed to acknowledge my life as it was after the abortion.
My dear friend until we gather again, I pray God blesses your days and gives you rest in the night.
